Associazione Macromicro is pleased to announce the great success of the photographic exhibition “On the Trails of the Glaciers: 1909-2009″; at the moment, there are more than 1000 visits a week and several reviews on all media.

The ceremony opened on February 24th at 18.00 with a series of speeches held by institutional personalities, as the Head of Culture of the Municipality of Rome, the Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of Pakistan in Rome, Prof. Smiraglia of Milan’s Università Statale and Eng. Egidi, Manager Regulatory Affairs of Enel Green Power.

Emphasis was placed on the impact of human behaviours on the ongoing climate change on our planet, dramatically visible especially on glaciers, tangible indicators of it.
The exhibition has aroused the interest of a vast audience of spectators, journalists and mountain lovers and received a positive opinion by the critics.
Approaching not only the aesthetic value, given by the beautiful photographs, but also and especially the environmental value, documenting visible change that has taken place over the last century on Karakoram’s glaciers, the author hopes to raise public awareness on climate change through his visual evidence, a subject that is currently capturing the watchful eye of big companies and all media.

We remind the upcoming meetings with the author, that will take place at Sala Santa Rita, March 12nd and 19th from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
